My performance project is well under way. We did Chelsea openings yesterday…It was heart breaking, but good. Butch Diva bodysuit and a YANA fanny pack worn cross body.
Video soon. xoxo
I attended the K8 Hardy fashion show performance at the Whitney Museum yesterday… I honestly have mixed feeling about this performance piece. Some things were excellently executed, but other things like the clothes, or sculptures as the artist refers to them, could have used more work. I think a riff on the fashion world is most perfect when it makes viewers feel the fun being poked from an insider point of view. That renders it a nuanced critique. Somehow this looked like fun being poked from the outside in, which in my opinion is less effective. However, the staged set was AMAZING and the sound track was delightfully well thought-out.—it included clips from radio fashion and beauty ads! Brilliant.
Santigold! Loving this for inspiration today.
My dream is to see her wearing one of my fanny packs one day.
Inez has reminded me that I need to re-decorate. Still have things in boxes from my move in April. Cozy is the goal. I better get to work!

I almost forgot to post these lovely photos from the “Itsa Small, Small World” show at Family Business. My good friend, Gina Im, of Office Tramp and Gallerina Diaries, and I were participants in this show. I love the curator, Hennessy Youngman’s, conceptual idea of letting ANYONE who applied into the show until he literally ran out of space. (and in case you did not know this meant that over 500 artist’s works were squeezed into a 125 square foot gallery store front!)
The show was an art happening… not just an opening. Can you say awesome block party? Spank Rock performed and I am still geeking over meeting my heroes Maurizio Cattelan and Marylin Mintor… Don’t I look happy just talking to them?
